French Industrial – Locomotive Engine – $3,500

(Inv. #174)   A unique clock with two clock works:  one runs the clock and the other runs the train wheels.  The industrial clocks from France celebrated the “industrial revolution” of the late 1800’s by making objects that were driving the new society.

This clock is in running order with original patina.  The engine has the clock, a hygrometer and a temperature gauge (not working).   Clocks of this style have been shown on the Antique Roadshow and valued at $30,000+.     My belief is that the clock was made sometime in the mid 1900’s.
