F. Kroeber 8 Day Wooden Case – $275

[inv. #182]  An 8 day movement with a coiled gong makes a good time-keeper with a warm strike tone for the discriminating collector.  Kroeber had the clock plates engraved with designs, much like the old English clocks of the 1700’s.   The nice oak case (12.75″ wide x 10.25″ high) with the 5 inch brass dial provides an impressive appearance.   In the “Kroeber” book by Tran Du Ly has the clock as “unnamed”.   The Kroeber family owned this clock and it was purchased at auction from the family.   This is a clock with provenance and character not found in other American mantel clocks.
